Starting the new fiscal year on an upbeat note, the Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange jumped 165 points, or 0.9 percent, to 17,693 on Thursday. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange added 41 points, or 0.8 percent, to 5,291.Stock markets in Japan, China, Hong Kong, Singapore and South Korea rose between 1 percent and 2 percent.
