Sensex up by 147 points in noon trade

The Sensex was trading in green in the noon trade today; it was up by 147 points at 17589. Earlier, it opened nearly 60 points higher in the morning trade as stocks of companies like Reliance Industries and Infosys staged a moderate recovery on emergence of buying by funds. The 30-share index, which had lost over 67 points in the previous two sessions, recovered by 60 points, or 0.34 per cent, to 17,500 points. Likewise, the broad-based National Stock Exchange index Nifty gained 45 points, or 0.86 per cent, to 5,280 points in the noon trade.
