Giving up most of its initial gains, the Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange stood just 8 points in positive territory, at 18,843 in afternoon trade, amid volatility, a short while ago. Earlier in the morning, however, the Sensex had opened with a gain of 84 points or 0.4 per cent, at 18,920. The Sensex had climbed 154 points in the previous two trading sessions.Stock markets in Japan, China, Indonesia, South Korea and Taiwan had lost between 0.1 percent and 1.3 percent.
