Sensex up 69 pts in noon trade

Trimming its initial gains, the Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange stood 69 points, or 0.4 percent in positive territory, at 19,498, in afternoon trade, amid considerable volatility, a short while ago. Earlier in the morning, the Sensex had opened with a stronger gain of 137 points, or 0.7 percent, at 19,566.Stock markets in Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Taiwan and South Korea had climbed between 0.4 percent and 3.4 percent, today.
