The BSE benchmark Sensex fell by nearly 31 points in early trade today but covered the initial losses and was trading 60 points up during the noon. The 30-share barometer gains 60 points or 0.30 per cent, to trade at 20,163.Similarly, the wide-based National Stock Exchange index Nifty which declined by 7 points during morning trade gain 28 pts and was trading at 6103 during noon. .In the Asian region, Japan's Nikkei Index fell by 0.68 percent, while Hong Kong's Hang Seng index declined by 0.07 per cent in early trade. The US Dow Jones Industrial Average ended 0.10 per cent lower yesterday.
