The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange rose 57 points, or 0.3 percent, to close at 18,919, today, on value-buying, after the Finance Ministry assured investors that their concerns over the Tax Residency Certificate would be addressed. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange gained 27 points, or 0.5 percent to 5,720.But stock markets in Japan, China, Hong Kong and Singapore ended largely weak.
