The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange gained 53 points, or 0.3 per cent, to trade at 17,654 in the afternoon trade today. The Nifty of the National Stock Exchange moved up 17 points, or 0.3 percent, at 5,354.Stock markets in Japan, Hong Kong, China, South Korea and Singapore were trading mixed in intra-day trade.
