Sensex up 47pts; trading at 17,278

The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange gained 45 points or 0.27 per cent to trade at 17,278, a short while ago.Earlier the Sensex rose by 106 points in opening trade today on fresh buying by funds and retailers. The 30-share barometer, which had lost 386 points in the previous two sessions, rebounded by 106 points to 17,338 with technology, banking and metal sector stocks leading the recovery.Similarly, the wide-based National Stock Exchange index, Nifty was trading 11 points, or 0.22 per cent higher at 5,246.
