The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange rose 91 points, or 0.5 percent, to 20,203 in early trade, today, on selective buying by funds, amid positive global cues. But afterwards, the Sensex trimmed its initial gains, to stand 40 points, or 0.2 percent in the green, at 20,152 in volatile afternoon trade, a short while ago. The Sensex had lost over 174 points in the previous two trading sessions.But stock markets in Japan, Indonesia, Singapore, Taiwan and South Korea had gained between 0.2 percent and1.6 perent, today.The US Dow Jones Industrial Average had climbed 0.3 per cent, to close at a new all-time high in yesterday's trade.
