The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange rose 41 points, 0.2 percent, to 17,950, in opening trade, today, on fresh buying by investors, after IT major, TCS reported better-than-estimated quarterly earnings. Remaining firm, the Sensex stood 38 points, or 0.2 percent in the green, at 17,947, a short while ago. Other Asian markets in Japan, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Indonesia, Taiwan, and South Korea were trading mixed.
