The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange gave almost all of its initial gains, to stand just 2 points in the green, at 18,312 amid volatile trade, a short while ago. Earlier in the morning, the Sensex had opened with a gain of 56 points, or 0.3 per cent, at 18,366, on the back of fresh buying by funds and retail investors, amid largely firm regional bourses.Stock markets in Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, and South Korea were up by between 0.1 percent and 1.5 percent, today, on hopes for a resolution to the US fiscal cliff, after positive comments by lawmakers in Washington.
