Sensex up 12 pts in noon trade

The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange rose 72 points, or 0.4 per cent, to 20,063 in early trade, today, on fresh buying by funds and retail investors, amid firm Asian bourses. But later, the Sensex turned volatile, and stood just 12 points, or 0.1 percent in positive territory, at 20,002, in afternoon trade, a short while ago. The Sensex had lost almost 113 points in the previous two trading sessions.Key stock indices in Japan, China, Taiwan, Indonesia, South Korea, Hong Kong and Singapore had gained between 0.2 percent and 2.2 percent, today. The US Dow Jones Industrial Average had ended 0.5 per cent higher in yesterday's trade.
