Sensex up 110 points in opening trade

The Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex rose by 110 points in opening trade today. The Sensex was trading at 17546, up by 56 points when reports last came in. Similarly, the wide-based National Stock Exchange's Nifty moved up by 13 points to quote at 5276. Brokers said a firm trend on the Asian bourses after overnight gains on the US market mainly buoyed the trading sentiment in domestic markets.
