Sensex trading up by 150 pts

The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange, which gained nearly 200 points in opening trade today, stood at 150 points in the positive territory at 17,343 a short while ago.After losing almost 377 points in the previous two sessions, the 30-share index recovered by 199 points, or 1.15 per cent, to 17,392 in first few minutes of trade today, as IT and financial stocks rose on fresh buying by funds and retail investors, amid a firming trend in global markets.In a similar fashion, the wide-based National Stock Exchange Nifty index was trading 40 points in the green at 5,209 points.In Asia, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index was up 2.48 per cent, while Japan's Nikkei Index rose by 1.21 per cent in morning trade.In the US, the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed 2.19 per cent higher in Friday's trade.
