The BSE benchmark Sensex was trading 300 points up at 17,446 points a shortwhile ago. It gained nearly 311 points in early trade today on emergence of buying by funds and retail investors at lower levels amid a firm trend in global markets. The wide-based National Stock Exchange index Nifty was also trading 94 points up at 5,314 points .
