Sensex trading green

Recovering from a weak start, the Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange rose 71 points, or 0.4 percent, to 18,517, in afternoon deals, a short while ago. Earlier, in the morning, however, the Sensex had opened 148 points lower, at 18,299, as investors booked profits after three days of gains in which the Sensex had rallied more than 820 points. Elsewhere, key stock indices in Japan, Hong Kong, Indonesia, South Korea, Singapore and Taiwan were up by between 0.4 percent and 2 percent, today. The US Dow Jones Industrial Average had added 0.1 per cent in yesterday's trade.
