Sensex trading down 77pts at 16,091 in noon trade

The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange, which opened 122 points in the red, was trading 77 points in the negative territory at 16,091 in afternoon trade, a short while ago. After losing 122 points in opening trade, the 30-share index rebounded by around 20 points in late morning deals, before falling again in afternoon trade.In a similar fashion, the National Stock Exchange 50-share Nifty index was down by 20 points at 4,832.In the Asian region, the key benchmark indices in China, Hong Kong, Japan, Indonesia, South Korea and Taiwan were up by between 0.55 per cent and 1.59 per cent, while Singapore's Straits Times Index was down by 0.2 per cent.
