The BSE benchmark index Sensex was trading 61 points down at 16,161 points a shortwhile ago. Sensex today declined by 70 points in early trade as funds and retail investors booked profits after yesterday's gains. The 30-share index had gained 274 points yesterday. It declined today with stocks of metals, oil and gas banking sectors succumbing to profit-booking.Similarly, the wide-based National Stock Exchange index Nifty was also trading 14 points down at 4,908 points a shortwhile ago.
