Extending its winning streak for the sixth straight session, the Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange gained 87 points, or 0.5 per cent, to 19,296 in opening trade, today, on continued capital inflows by foreign funds. The Sensex then surged as much as 279 points in early afternoon deals, but later cooled off, to stand 147 points, or 0.8 percent in the green, at 19,355, a short while ago. The Sensex has already gained almost 990 points in the last five trading sessions.Other Asian bourses in Japan, China, Hong Kong, Singapore and South Korea were trading mixed, today. The US Dow Jones Industrial Average had added 0.8 per cent, overnight.
