The BSE benchmark Sensex was trading 190 points or 1.20 per cent up at 16,226 points a short while ago on fresh buying in power, auto, consumer durables, realty, banking and metal counters on the back of firm Asian cues. Earlier, the Sensex rose by over 107 points in opening trade today.Similarly, the NSE's 50-share Nifty was also trading 44 points or 0.1 per cent up at 4, 790 points.Interest rate-sensitive banking stocks rose ahead of the Reserve Bank of India's mid-quarter monetary policy review today.
