Sensex trades 141 pts in negative territory in afternoon transaction

Erasing initial gains, the Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange was trading 141 points in the negative territory at 16,073 when reports last came in. The 30-share index, which had lost nearly 664 points in the past two sessions, recovered by 147 points, or 0.90 per cent, at 16,360 in the first few minutes of trade today.In a similar fashion, the wide-based National Stock Exchange Nifty index was trading 51 points in the red at 4,816.Meanwhile, in Asia, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index rose by 1.51 per cent, while Japan's Nikkei Index moved up by 1.36 per cent in morning trade today. The Dow Jones Industrial Average ended 1.55 per cent higher on Friday.
