Sensex surges 63 pts in noon trade

Recovering from early losses, the Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange stood 63 points, or 0.4 per cent in positive territory, at 16, 926, in afternoon trade, a short while ago. Earlier in the morning, however, the Sensex had declined 33 points, or 0.2 per cent, to 16,830, on profit-booking by funds and retail investors.Other Asian markets in Japan, China, Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan and Indonesia were up by between 0.1 percent and 0.8 percent, today, on hopes that policy makers would step in to limit the fallout from the euro zone crisis to the global economy. The US Dow Jones Industrial Average had added 0.2 per cent in yesterday's trade.
