At the stock markets, both the Sensex and the Nifty soared to fresh record highs, today. The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange spurted 435 points, or 1.3 percent, to cross the 33,000-mark for the first time ever, and close at a record high of 33,043. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange surged 88 points, to a lifetime peak of 10,295. Public sector bank stocks were the biggest gainers.
