Recovering from yesterday's big fall, the Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange surged 365 points, or 2.3 percent, to 16,388, today, on short-covering ahead of the current month expiry in the derivatives segment. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange rose 111 points, or 2.3 percent, to 4,917.Stock markets in Japan, Hong Kong, China, South Korea and Singapore gained between 0.1 percent and 1.5 percent.
