Rising for the second straight session, the Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange surged 286 points, or 1.7 percent, to 17,602, on Wednesday, as investors continued to pick up blue-chips at lower levels, amid firm European markets. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange jumped 90 points, or 1.7 percent, to 5,365.Stock markets in Japan, China, Hong Kong, Singapore and South Korea ended mixed.
