The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange surged 243 points, or 1.4 per cent, to an over 25-month high of 17,936, amid positive global cues, today. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange spurted 78 points, or 1.5 per cent, to 5,368. Stock markets in Japan, Singapore and South Korea rose between 0.1 per cent and 1 per cent.
