The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange closed with a solid gain of 230 points, or 1.5 per cent, at 16,153, today, on easier FDI norms, and improved global sentiment. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange jumped 70 points, or 1.5 percent, to 4,827. Stock markets in China, Singapore, South Korea and Hong Kong gained between 0.1 percent and 2 percent.
