Climbing for the second straight session, the Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange surged 198 points, or 1.1 percent, to an over 30-month high of 18,455, amid hopes of easing inflation, and firm Asian markets, today. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange jumped 61 points, or 1.1 percent, to 5,540.Stock markets in Japan, China, Singapore, Hong Kong and South Korea gained between 0.2 percent and 1.3 percent.
