The BSE benchmark Sensex, which rose by 164 points in early trade today, was trading 135 points in the positive territory at 16,854 in late morning deals, when reports last came in. Extending gains for the sixth day in a row, the 30-share index had opened 164 points in the green today, on increased buying by funds and retail investors, supported by recovery in the rupee and a firming trend in Asian markets.In a similar fashion, the National Stock Exchange Nifty was trading 46 points in the green at 5,114.
