Sensex surges 10 pts in noon trade

The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange rose 105 points, or 0.6 per cent, to 17,424 in early trade, today, on sustained buying by funds and retail investors, amid some encouraging fourth quarter corporate results, and firm regional bourses. But the Sensex later gave up almost all its initial gains, and stood just 10 points in the green, at 17,329 in afternoon deals, a short while ago. The 30-share Sensex had gained almost 190 points in the previous three trading sessions.
