Earlier in the morning, the Sensex had dropped 69 points. Similarly, the Nifty at the National Stock Exchange had lost 72 points, to 7,766 a short while ago. At the forex market, the rupee had weakened 9 paise, to 66.12 against the dollar in late morning deals.
