Stocks tripped over the growing worries about rise in interest rates and a global rout in equities today. The benchmark Sensex fell 1.18 per cent to close at a one-month low and the broader Nifty 1.15 per cent, crashing below the 10,500 level.The 30-share Sensex closed lower by 407 points at 34,006. This is the weakest closing since 4th January when it had ended at 33,970. The Nifty fell by 122 points to end at 10,455.Broader markets, however depicted a mixed trend as the mid-cap index fell 0.09 per cent, while small-cap up 0.23 per cent.
