Sensex slips over 30 points in afternoon trade

Remaining slightly weak, the Sensex at the Bombay Stock stood 34 points, or 0.2 percent in negative territory, at 20,692 in afternoon trade, a short while ago. Earlier, in morning deals, the Sensex had fallen 65 points, or 0.3 percent, to 20,660 on continued selling by funds, amid falling regional bourses. The Sensex had lost nearly 170 points in the previous three trading sessions. Elsewhere in Asia, stock indices in Japan, China, Hong South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan and Indonesia had declined between 0.2 percent and 2.8 percent, today. But the US Dow Jones Industrial Average had ended 0.6 per cent higher yesterday
