Sensex slips over 100 pts in noon trade

The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange declined 59 points, or 0.3 per cent, to 18,143 in opening trade, this morning, as funds and retail investors booked profits after recent gains, amid weak global bourses.Later, after losing almost 160 points at one stage, the Sensex trimmed its losses slightly, and stood 118 points, or 0.7 per cent in the negative zone, at 18,085 in afternoon deals, a short while ago. The 30-share Sensex had gained over 450 points in the past three trading sessions.Other stocks markets in Japan, China, Taiwan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Indonesia and Singapore were down by between 0.3 percent and 1.8 percent, today, after European officials delayed a decision on a second bailout package for Greece. The US Dow Jones Industrial Average had lost 0.8 per cent, overnight.
