The BSE benchmark Sensex slipped from a record closing high by falling over 37 points in early trade today as funds and retail investors preferred to book profits after recent gains amid monthly expiry in the derivatives segment.The 30-share barometer, which gained 463.69 points in the past two sessions, fell by 37.28 points to trade at 20,996 points. The index had closed at an all-time high of 21,033 points in yesterday's trade.The National Stock Exchange index Nifty fell by 11.10 points, or 0.18 per cent, to 6,240 points.
