The Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex shed its early gains and was trading at 17, 142, down by over 46 points at 1400 hrs. In early trade, Sensex rose by 158 points on buying by funds driven by strong global cues.Similarly, the wide-based National Stock Exchange index Nifty down by over 18 points to 5,116 points. The US Dow Jones Industrial Average ended 0.67 per cent higher on Thursday.
