Sensex sheds 159 pts

The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange dropped 159 points, or 1 percent, to 16,008, today, on profit-booking by investors, opposition to further opening up of FDI in retail, and mixed European markets. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange fell 46 points, or 1 percent, to 4,805.But stock markets in Japan, China, Hong Kong and South Korea rose between 1.2 percent and 2.3 percent.
