The Bombay Stocks Exchange benchmark Sensex fell by over 102 points in opening trade today. It was trading at 16,822 down by over 54 points a short while ago.Brokers said Sensex fell due to profit booking and a subdued trend on other Asian bourses. Meanwhile, in the Asia region, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index was down by 0.79 per cent and Japan's Nikkei shed 0.77 per cent in morning trade today.
