The Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex recovered by over 49 points in the opening trade Tuesday. The 30-share index touched 17,213 points in the opening trade. The Sensex closed at 17,164.99 points in yesterday's trade. The wide-based National Stock Exchange index Nifty edged higher by 15.10 points, to touch 5,144. Meanwhile, the Hong Kong's Hang Seng was up by 0.20 per cent, while Japan's Nikkei by 0.23 per cent in the morning trade today. The US Dow Jones Industrial average ended 0.16 per cent higher in the previous session.
