The BSE benchmark Sensex jumped over 179 points in early trade today to trade at 18,175.Similarly, the wide-based National Stock Exchange index Nifty rose 44 points to 5,329.Brokers said, sentiments turned better after the rupee recovered from its record low after RBI announced fresh measures and a firming trend in the Asian region.In other Asian markets, Hong Kong's Hang Seng index rose by 0.41 per cent, while Japan's Nikkei gained 0.33 per cent in the early trade.The US Dow Jones Industrial Average ended 0.33 per cent higher in yesterday's trade.
