Sensex rises over 100 points in afternoon trade

The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange rose 80 points, or 0.5 per cent, to 17,725 in opening trade, today, on continued capital inflows by foreign funds. Gaining further ground, the Sensex stood 125 points, or 0.7 percent in the green, at 17,770, a short while ago. Stock markets in Japan, Hong Kong, South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore and Indonesia were trading mixed.
