Rising in tandem with global markets, the Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange gained 279 points, or 1.7 percent, to 16,666, today. The Nifty at the National Stock Exchange rose 86 points, or 1.7 percent, to 5,003.The global markets also rallied, after China said it remains a long-term investor in Europe. The bourses in Japan, China, Hong Kong, South Korea and Singapore gained between 1 percent and 1.5 percent. The European markets also climbed.
