Snapping its six-session losing streak, the Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex made a strong comeback by rising nearly 300 points and was trading at 17,160 during noon today, supported by a rebound on other Asian bourses.Earlier, the 30-share BSE barometer, which has lost nearly 1,455 points in the past six sessions to hit a 14-month low, rose by 398 points to 17,256 in morning trade. Similarly, the broad-based National Stock Exchange Nifty index shot up by 92 points to 5,165. In the Asian region, Hong Kong's Hang Seng index rose by 3.70 per cent, while Japan's Nikkei gained 1.72 per cent in morning trade today. The US Dow Jones Industrial Average ended 3.98 per cent higher in the previous session.
