The Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange fell 66 points, or 0.3 per cent, to 18,975 in early trade, today, on profit-booking by funds and speculators, after recent gains. Later, the Sensex remained weak, to stand 62 points, or 0.3 percent in the red, at 18,979 in afternoon trade, a short while ago. The Sensex had gained nearly 360 points in the previous four trading sessions.Stock markets in Japan, China, Singapore, Indonesia and Taiwan had gained between 0.1 percent and 2.4 percent, today, as the Japanese central bank began a two-day policy meeting. The US Dow Jones Industrial Average had ended 0.6 per cent higher, yesterday.
