Sensex recovers losses, Gains 218 points

On the back of strong global cues, the Indian markets today managed to recover most of yesterday's losses and ended in the green. The benchmark index at the Bombay Stock Exchange today closed at 17,933 with a gain of 218 points.All the sectoral indices today ended in the green led by oil and gas exploration, capital goods, banking and financial, auto and metal companies. Tata Motors, HDFC and BHEL were the top gainers while Bharti Airtel, HUL and TCS were the top losers. The Nifty too ended in the green, at 5361 , with a gain of 57 points. The Nifty touched a high of 5,377 and a low of 5,302 . The Midcap and Smallcap indices too recorded huge gains. The Midcap index closed at 7084 up by 63 points. The Smallcap index closed at 9063 up by 114 points.
