Fresh buying in select counters, mainly realty, consumer durables, capital goods and power, helped the BSE benchmark Sensex recover from early losses to trade nearly 100 points higher vis-a-vis its previous close in early trade today. The 30-share Bombay Stock Exchange index resumed higher at 16,155.99 and hovered in a range between 16,237 and 16,247. The NSE's 50-share Nifty gained over 28 points, or 0.59 per cent, at 4,874 at 1413 hours. Major Asian stock markets lost at least 1 per cent last week as investors fretted about global growth prospects and awaited further developments in the euro-zone debt crisis.
