Sensex recovers early loss, stood 154 points up

The sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange fell 57 points or 0.3 per cent, to 16,331, in opening trade, amid profit-booking on Thursday. But the sensex later rebounded and stood 154 points or 0.9 per cent in the green at 16,541 a shortwhile ago. Other Asian markets in Hong Kong, China, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Singapore and Taiwan were up between 1 per cent and 1.5 percent on Thursday. The US Dow Jones Industrial Average had slipped 0.7 percent overnight.
