Sensex recovers by over 74 points in opening trade

The BSE benchmark Sensex recovered by over 74 points in opening trade today on fresh buying amid a firming trend in the Asia region.The 30-share Sensex, which has lost over 426 points in the past three sessions, recovered by 74.59 points, or 0.48 per cent, to 15,618.52 in the first five minutes of trade.In a similar fashion, the wide-based National Stock Exchange Nifty index moved up by 21.25 points, or 0.46 per cent, to 4,667.60.Buying activity was focused on realty, auto and bankingstocks, helping the Sensex trade in positive terrain.Meanwhile, in the Asia region, Hong Kong's Hang Seng Index rose by 0.39 per cent and Japan's Nikkei by 0.32 per cent in morning trade today.
