Sensex recovers by over 66 points in opening trade

The Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark Sensex recovered by over 66 points in the opening trade today. Sensex was trading 16,671, up by over 54 points a short while ago in the morning trade. Similarly, Nifty of National Stocks Exchange was up by over 20 points at 5007. Brokers said overnight gains on the US market, which ended 1.26 per cent higher, and firm opening on Asian bourses, triggered selective buying by foreign funds as well as retail investors.
