Sensex recovers after early loses in volatile trade

After losing 184 points in the opening trade this morning, the Sensex at the Bombay Stock Exchange recovered partially in afternoon trade and stood 38 points, or 0.2 per cent in the red at 15,874 a short while ago. Other Asian markets in Japan, Hong Kong, South Korea, Signapore and Taiwan were down by between 0.5 per cent and 1.8 per cent today. Over in the US, Wall Street had closed mixed overnight, as a key policy making body of the Central Bank had left its key interest rate unchanged.
